Chào Show- A Cultural Hub in the heart of Saigon
Despite being one of the country's leading tourist destinations, Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon) still lacks truly attractive cultural attractions. Among countless modern entertainment options, many visitors to the city still feel a little bit regretful as it is hard for them to find an art performance program that is distinctive and commensurate with the scale and vibrancy of the city.
Chào Show was born from that burning desire, bringing a modern music program that is still rich in character, satisfying the expectations of both domestic and international audiences.
The highlight that makes Chào Show different is the subtle combination of tradition and modernity. Composer Trần Mạnh Hùng successfully created the “Resplendent Homeland suite” with captivating, modern arrangements that still retain the spirit of sounds from over 30 traditional Vietnamese music instruments.

Not only can audiences enjoy the deep and expansive melodies from three regions of Vietnam – the North, Central and South, but they can also experience Vietnamese cuisine. On offer are dishes familiar to Vietnamese people, yet impressive enough for international visitors. The dishes are presented simply and elegantly, with tableware made from environmentally friendly materials such as coconut wood, bamboo, and ceramic.

Amidst a sea of entertainment-focused shows, Chào Show has chosen its own path, a commitment to honor Vietnamese music and traditional cultural beauty through modern, creative, and accessible means. This is not just an art performance, but a multi-sensory journey, an awe-inspiring adventure from North to South, all in 90 minutes.

Technology is also a highlight of Chào Show. Appearing for the first time in Vietnam, the Immersive Audio 20.4 system delivers a vibrant musical space. The 180° LED screen allows the audience to not only watch, but truly live in each story and each melody.

The artists’ dedication is a crucial factor to the program's success. The artists are not only proficient in many musical instruments, but they also pour their hearts and souls into each performance, touching the hearts of the audience. Artist Cao Ho Nga, the band leader, shared: “In all my years in the profession, this is the first time I have participated in a program that only uses traditional Vietnamese instruments, without combining symphony or modern music. The traditional music in Chào Show retains its distinctive features but has a new and effective way of expression.”
With the advent of Chào Show, Ho Chi Minh City has gained another “CULTURAL HUB” for both domestic and international audiences. Chào Show demonstrates that culture is not a static past in a museum, but a vibrant artistic flow that can move and inspire, especially the younger generation. This is truly a new “direction” for traditional performing arts in Vietnam.
