TangShop - one of Taiwan's famous confectionery brands has just linked up with many partners in Vietnam to export Taiwanese confectionery products "Made in Vietnam" to many countries around the world. To learn more about this brand, Saigon New Day had a conversation with Ms. Angel Yeh - Founder and CEO of TangShop.
Could you please introduce the highlights of TangShop?
TangShop is a Taiwanese company specializing in manufacturing cakes and candy, aiming to provide products of the highest quality. At the same time, it still maintains the brand's original characteristics of serving customers' health (especially children) and developing traditional Taiwanese products internationally.
TangShop's products have received many prestigious awards such as: Taiwan Quality Assurance Gold Award; The 5th Golden Ship Award for International Licensing Potential (2023),...
Many unique products of TangShop can be mentioned such as Toffee Cashew Cake – combines New Zealand butter, handmade caramel and slow-roasted cashews; Pearl milk candy is quality tested by a third party, and delivered directly to Costco stores in Australia; The Almond Marshmallow range was developed in 2020 in partnership with a 2 star Michelin Chef from the UK, using high quality ingredients, combining large chunks of almonds with locally sourced milk from New Zealand and dried clean fruit grown on local farms - this product won the "Top Ten Asia- Pacific Souvenirs " award at the 10th International Summit Forum on Chinese Food Culture.
In particular, the pastry product with a filling made from pure dates, combined with California walnuts and 100% Australian cold- pressed olive oil, brings a rich and balanced flavor, very nutritious and has achieved Winner of the ITQI Superior Taste Award for 2 consecutive years 2019-2020.
With a professional and modern factory, we also provide comprehensive, tailored OEM services, to meet customer needs from flavor development, packaging design, to production and distribution.
Besides business, TangShop also actively contributes to community activities such as sponsoring the Happiness Foundation, Karen Mok Charity Concert, Christmas Charity Event, donating to Taipei School of Special Education, along with other community welfare activities.
It is known that you have found a partner in Vietnam to combine production and brand development. Why did you choose Vietnam - and not another country?
There are many factors that made me choose Vietnam.
Taiwan is currently one of the major partners in Vietnam. Since more than 20 years ago, Vietnam has attracted many Taiwanese businesses to invest in traditional industries such as textile and garment, shoe manufacturing, ...
Vietnam is considered to have a stable, friendly business environment, quite similar in culture to Taiwan; In particular, the abundant labor force, the hard work of the workers as well as the production cost are consistent with our budget plan.
Responding to the cooperation policy between Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries, I went to Vietnam to explore the market, and linked up with many partners such as Topcake (a company with advanced production technology lines of Europe, achieved ISO 22000 certification, HACCP & GMP certification, Halal certification); Olympic Coffee (one of the leading brands in Vietnam in the field of processing,...).
What do you expect about the upcoming cooperation in Vietnam?
With the above cooperation, we can not only produce more and meet customers' high requirements; but also develop the traditional Taiwanese candy brand "Made in Vietnam" to markets in Europe, America, Canada, Korea...
I believe that this new cooperation will bring benefits to both sides, as well as contribute to creating jobs for local workers. In addition, with the company's orientation being business activities linked to the community, within our ability, we will also continue to make contributions to the community in Vietnam, such as in recent business trips. According to you, what factors are needed to successfully integrate internationally?
In my opinion, the first thing is to have an outstanding and unique product. TangShop's products stand out not only with beautiful packaging, standard quality, and good for health, but also connect and bring joy and happiness to everyone when eating and sharing together.
The second factor is also very important, which is to maintain credibility - with reputation, we will receive support and cooperation from many sides and develop our brand widely and long- term.
