Tran Thuy Thanh Truc - Marketing and Communication Manager, Intercontinental Nha Trang Hotel - Sometimes Overcome Your Comfort Zone

From the role of internal responsibility in the family range, today’s women have asserted their value by their career and their lifting up themselves. On the occasion of International Women’s Day March 8, many women coming in the special issue "Women and Desire" will be sharing many interesting things about work and their life view.

Working for famous international corporations, what have you learned?

For me, it’s a good luck working for famous international corporations. I learn the standardized process in professionalism, which enhances my view via work opportunity, learning, exchanging with foreign experts and coworkers, diversifying the relationship in many areas. Thanks to this, my foreign languages have improved, so does my confidence in contact and understanding of the difference between cultures, between organizations, or different trades.

As I see, to gain success in career, everyone should be assertive that their job is a passion - although sometimes it’s not their strength. If it’s a passion, you need the courage, and commitment in which you have not got any experience; but adversities, challenges sometimes overcome your comfort zone because you are not aware you can do something extraordinary. However, on top of that, in order to have success, your proper behavior, your properness, sincerity for coworkers, your boss and partners are also the importance for personal success.

What do you think about today’s women?

Women nowadays are gradually affirming very well their personal ability via their positive contribution to the family and society in many aspects. In order to share economic burden for the family, they suffer from the pressure of the office for 8 hours, and the problem of traffic jam, pollution on the way to work and back home after work. Back at home, they occupy themselves with nameless chores to keep the home clean, nice with decent meals. I even admire businesswomen for their smart and reasonable arrangement and allocation of their time. They keep embodying themselves continually during their limited 24 hours. Once they’re the sophisticated businesswoman model, graceful to partners; another time they’re a decisive manager before important decisions; or else, a smart housewife, a sweet wife, kind daughter-in-law in the family.

How do you balance your time for the family and work, community?

I split my day into 3: 8 hours “fully burned” with my work pursuit and passion; 8 hours to restore and renew work energy; the rest 8 hours is for my loved ones in the family, interest of me and positive social contacts. However, at some specific moments and due to priority, the proportion might change a bit; however, either you work for fun and passion, you can connect and save time for those you love, all the requirements come in more comfort because then you don’t do it because of responsibility, but merely out of your love for it.
